The NZ News Online Australia shocked that Gordon Ramsey is an arrogant wanker. Australia was today reeling from the apparent shock, that celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey, is a completely self-absorbed, foul-mouthed, tosser. Ramsey's TV programmes Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares are ratings winners in Australia. The basic premise of these shows involve Ramsey swearing at, insulting, putting down and generally degrading anyone within 10 feet of him. Unless, they happen to be famous in anyway, no matter how slight, in which case he is happy to charm and grovel at their feet. Despite this when he went on the 9 network, the same network which broadcasts hi s
reality programmes, and went on the tirade he is famous for, Australians
were shocked.Ramsey's shocking, but completely typical behaviour started when he appeared on Channel 9's A Current Affair programme. Commenting on host Tracy Grimshaw, he said: "Is that a wart you've got there? What is that?", he then apparently insulted her also. On Saturday, playing to a packed arena of 3000 people, who obviously love his unique form of smut, Ramsey, compared Ms Grimshaw to a pig. This was repeated on Sunday and Monday to the other Ramsey lovers who missed it on previous nights. Pigs across Australia were said to be up in arms, after being compared to Tracey Grimshaw. Ramsey has since apologised, saying he never meant to insult pigs, especially during such sensitive times as the current swine flu pandemic. He wanted to assure the public his insults were directed at Ms Grimshaw. Ramsey: "Arse, Feck, Girls, Nipples" Following the media furore instigated by Channel 9, Channel 9, released backstage footage where Ramsey treated everyone he ran into like something he just stepped in, while simultaneously thinking he was a super-charming love machine. A survey found that 75% of those who viewed it thought it was an episode of Kitchen Nightmares and thought it no wonder the restaurant was not doing well with the odd layout. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, has waded in on the argument in an attempt to make someone who actually deserves it cry. He called Ramsey a "low life" and a "meanie pants". The Prime Minister is understood to be grateful that the country is distracted from the latest set of race riots. Critics were however left wondering, why when Ramsey insults someone famous it is an outrage, but, it is ok to broadcast him doing exactly the same thing to staff working in his restaurant, in a weekly prime time slot, while gaining huge advertising revenue from it.
