The NZ News Online Search and surveillance bill to put a police officer inside your house. 15th October 2009 There could soon be a police officer inside every New Zealand house if changes to the search and surveillance bill are passed. Parliaments justice and electoral committee have questioned whether removing your right to silence when being questioned by a police officer and constant hacking into your home computer without your knowledge is enough in the battle against the apparently constant scourge of scum on our crime ridden streets. ![]() Justice Minister Judith Collins said: "Yes we decided these measures were not going far enough, as well as being able to search you without a warrant, we also need to be able to give any brown person a good old tasering, just for the hell of it and don't forget the random shootings we like to participate in". When we asked her if she thought this was one step further towards a police she said: "Look what do you want? You can either be scared of an apparent criminal element, perpetrated by a terrible national media or be terrified by an out of control police state and government, make up your mind". She then tasered our camera man. Meanwhile, a dozen scraggly activists with dubious levels of personal hygiene were protesting outside parliament, their leader Sharon Sharonson from Porirua had this to say, seconds before a public servant cracked her across the forehead with a baton: "Will the police officer watching me at all times at least help out with the dishes?"
